Liquid Cooling Package (LCP) for Industrial Applications

The industry trend toward higher cooling output requirements has intensified during the past few years. Water cooling, which is already established in IT applications, is increasingly seen as important by mechanical engineers and plant engineers. Rittal is therefore expanding its portfolio of air/water heat exchanger solutions: the LCP (Liquid Cooling Package) technology already established in server enclosures is now also available with an output of 10 kW - optionally scalable up to 20 kW - for industrial applications in mechanical and plant engineering.

There is a rising need of high output cooling exchanges in the mechanical and plant engineering environment. It is a well-known that water cooling is much more effective at cooling in a smaller space than air cooling because of higher thermal conductivity. Due to this rising need Rittal is expanding its liquid cooling package availability. For the first time ever Rittal's LCP is now available for mechanical and plant engineering. This is made viable by completely separating the compartments containing water from the electrical components.

Since the Rittal TS 8 enclosure is the basis for the LCP industry integration into existing systems is possible at any time. The products now available include the LCP Inline, LCP Plus, and the LCP T3+. The LCP Inline can produce 60 kilowatts of cooling output in an area as small as .36 meters. The power consumption of the fans on the air end is minimal because the pressure loss is very low.

The LCP Inline's monitoring system provides a wide variety of information like cooling output, leakage, fan speed and more. The LCP T3+ has redundant heat exchanger concept with two active water circuits. It also has a redundant power in feed with automatic changeover in case of emergency. It has a fully redundant cooling output of 24kW. To summarize, Rittal now offers liquid cooling packages for mechanical and plant engineering.

Network Enclosures TS 8

The Rittal TS 8 enclosure serves as the basis for the LCP Industry. Thus subsequent integration into existing system environments is also possible at any time. In contrast to the IT variant, in which the 482.6 mm (19") level is cooled laterally at a constant 22° Celsius, air routing in the industrial LCP is adapted to the requirements of enclosure climate control...
